Frantziako Gobernuak, ekainean Kontseilu Europarraren lehendakaritzaren amaierarako karbono-emisioen bidezko mugan doitzeko mekanismoa (CBAM) ezartzeari dagokionez adostasun zabala lortzeari lehentasuna emanez, merkataritza berdeko aditu-talde batek zenbait printzipio biltzen dituen testu bat idatzi du, Europar Batasunean KARBONO-MUGA EZARTZEKO PRINTZIPIOAK eztabaidarako gida izan nahi duena.

● Un nuevo artículo dirigido por investigadores del Basque Centre for Climate Change (BC3) e Ikerbasque muestra cómo las tecnologías de inteligencia artificial basada en la semántica son capaces de integrar datos y modelos producidos de manera independiente en el ámbito de la sostenibilidad medioambiental.
This is an important step towards achieving data and model reusability and interoperability and moves open science forward, with the prospect of favouring knowledge integration and scientific evidence synthesis that may benefit both the science and policy communities.

Trantsizio Energetikoaren eta Klima Ekintzaren Behatokia (OTEA) BC3ren (Basque Centre for Climate Change) ekimen bat da, eta Espainian deskarbonizazioaren eta haren inplikazio ekonomiko, sozial eta ingurumenekoen jarraipen zehatza egiteko helburua du. OTEA 2021 txostenean jasotzen diren mugarri nagusiak aurkeztuko dira ekitaldian, eta behatokiak urtean zehar egindako azterketa batzuk ezagutaraziko dira; haien artean, fiskalitate berdeari eta bidezko trantsizioari buruzko azterketa bat.

A new article published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States of America (PNAS) is a call to action for policymakers worldwide seeking to develop sustainable and equitable solutions to humanity’s most urgent global challenges. “Ten Facts about Land Systems for Sustainability” is co-authored by 50 leading land system scientists, including Unai Pascual (Ikerbasque Professor at the Basque Centre for Climate Change) from 20 countries.

The abstract submission period is open for the International Symposium on ICE IN A SUSTAINABLE SOCIETY (ISS). Participants wishing to present their works at the symposium organized by The International Glaciological Society (IGS) and the Basque Centre for Climate Change (BC3) together with UPV/EHU may submit an abstract by 4 March 2022.

BC3 researcher Marta Olazabal has been granted with a European Research Council (ERC) Starting Grant to implement her project IMAGINE Climate Change Adaptation in Urban Areas. The main goal of ‘IMAGINE adaptation’ is to advance pioneering science for the evaluation of urban adaptation and its governance across scales.
