Jornal Article: Dry deposition of air pollutants on trees at regional scale: A case study in the Basque Country

There is increased interest in the role of trees to reduce air pollution and thereby improve human health and well-being. This study determined the removal of air pollutants by dry deposition of trees across the Basque Country and estimated its annual economic value. A model that calculates the hourly dry deposition of NO2, O3, SO2, CO and PM10 on trees at a 1 km x 1 km resolution at a regional scale was developed.

Ibon Galarraga, senior researcher at Basque Centre for Climate Change, has been interviewed at Horizon 2020 Magazine about the results of CONSEED projects

The HORIZON Magazine interviewed researchers Ibon Galarraga and Eleanor Denny about the results of the CONSEED project and what they learned from consumers about their engagement with the range of energy efficient cars, property and appliances on the European market. Galarraga stressed "how is critical that Europe supports individuals to buy correctly, because energy eficiency is one of the easiest ways to save energy".

El curso de verano “Resistencia a antibióticos en el medio ambiente: origen de un escenario apocalíptico” en los medios

Plentzia, 18 de julio, se ha celebrado el curso de verano "Resistencia a antibióticos en el medio ambiente: origen de un escenario apocalíptico" donde durante dos días se ha hablado sobre el impacto en la salud humana, animal y medioambiental de la resistencia a antibióticos, un curso de verano que nace del convenio  entre NEIKER-Tecnalia, Universidad del País Vasco/Euskal Herriko Unibertsitatea (UPV/EHU) y Basque Centre for Climate Change (BC3) para impulsar la iniciativa Joint Research Lab on Environmental Antibiotic Resistance (JRL). La prensa nacional e regional ha entrevistado a los organizadores y ponentes del curso de verano de la UPV/EHU celebrado en la Estación Marina de Plentzia (PiE).
