The UN Climate Change Conference (COP28) decision was adopted on 13 December, 2023 after a long night of discussions at the Expo City Dubai, where BC3 operated as a member organization of the Spain Delegation to the 2023 COP28.

BC3 presents in a simple and accessible document the actions, methodology, and other elements for the facilitation of climate citizens’ assemblies. Authored by facilitation experts from the Tangente Cooperative Group, Conchi Piñeiro and Laura Lucio González, and coordinated by BC3’s scientific director, Maria José Sanz, the guide has the collaboration of assembly members and experts from the Citizens’ Assembly for Climate (CAC).

BC3, together with the Institute for European Environmental Policy (IEEP) and the Elcano Royal Institute, organized the Think2030 Dialogue Spain on November 16 in Madrid, in collaboration with the Spanish Presidency of the Council of the European Union.

Neus Escobar, MSCA researcher at BC3, was recognized for her outstanding contribution to the Policy Pitch Competition at the MSCA Conference 2023, held in conjunction with the Spanish Presidency of the EU on 14-15 November. Out of 170 participants, Escobar was selected as one of the 15 finalists, competing with four other MSCA-IF projects in the category ‘Exposure to Policy Making’.

Recent findings published in Landscape Ecology reveal that a considerable amount of methane emissions caused by herbivores—traditionally linked to modern livestock—could originate from natural ecosystem processes. This discovery calls for reevaluating the environmental impact of wild and domesticated herbivores.
