Transborder Collaboration: Fostering Knowledge Exchange and Innovation for Climate Action

The EU-funded MAIA project is hosting a press event as part of the “Fostering Knowledge Exchange and Innovation for Climate Action” event, scheduled for Tuesday, October 10th, at noon. The event will take place at the Ambiorix Center in Brussels, located at 7 Ambiorix Square, in the framework of the 21st European Week of Regions and Cities.
The event will be moderated by Maria José Sanz, BC3 Scientific Director, member of the Task Force Bureau on National Greenhouse Gas Inventories on IPCC and MAIA project coordinator.
It will feature a policy roundtable discussion on transborder collaboration concerning climate adaptation action. This discussion aims to shed light on challenges, gaps, or barriers that regions may face and successful strategies or enablers contributing to effective transborder cooperation.
Several notable European regional representatives and EU officials will participate in this discussion, including:
- Ms. Géraldine Mahieu, Director DG ECFIN.B, European Commission, Economic and Financial Affairs.
- Mr. Raffaele Cattaneo, Undersecretary for International and European Relations, Government of the Lombardy Region.
- Mr. Aitor Zulueta, CEA Centro de Estudios Ambientales Director, Vitoria-Gasteiz (Basque Country).
- Mr. Simon Moulines, Mission Director at the Occitanie region (participating online).
- Mr. Juan Terradez Mas, Director of the Pyrenean Climate Change Observatory (participating online).
