On April 23rd, the "Renewable Energies and the Energy Transition in Spain 2030-2050” workshop organized by the BC3 (Basque Centre for Climate Change BC3), the Spanish Association of Energy Economics (AEEE) and the Spanish Club of Energy (Enerclub) was held in Madrid. The event was organized as a part of the H2020 European project TRANSrisk, led in BC3 by Mikel González-Eguino, with participation of international, European and National actors regarding renewable energies and energy transition.

Avanzar hacia una movilidad sostenible es un reto fundamental para conseguir reducir las emisiones de gases de efecto invernadero en la senda marcada por el Acuerdo de París. El transporte, propulsado principalmente por derivados del petróleo, fue responsable en 2016 de un tercio de las emisiones totales de gases de efecto invernadero en el País Vasco, superando por primera vez al sector industrial.

Y para ello han de ir en la senda marcada por los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible y por el Acuerdo de París.

The Basque Centre for Climate Change (BC3) opens a competitive call for applications to one PhD contract to develop the doctoral thesis on issues related to energy modelling and climate policy. The applicant will develop the thesis in the context of the PARIS REINFORCE project, a European Commission H2020 research project. PARIS REINFORCE aims to underpin climate policymaking and enhance the science-policy interface, in light of the Paris Agreement and associated challenges.
