Climate change adaptation initiatives in West Africa: a focus on the fisheries, livestock and wetlands sectors

January 25, 2024 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

How can the proposed adaptation strategies necessarily impact populations in terms of positive changes to their lifestyles? The Centre de Suivi Ecologique (CSE) and the University of Gaston Berger (UGB) in Senegal, based on science and traditional ecological knowledge (TEK), are working to offer data, products and services that facilitate transformational change. Thus tools, methods and approaches have been developed in a spirit of co-development and cross-fertilization process between the various actors. The presentation will focus in particular on successful experiences in the fisheries, livestock and wetlands sectors, with a view to stimulating discussion and receiving feedbacks.
