BC3 participates at the International Day of Women and Girls in Science with two especial webinars

To commemorate the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, BC3 is set to host two webinars on February 16, 2024. The first session, conducted in English from 10 am to 11am, will be followed by a Basque session from 11 am to 11.30am, building on our initiative from last year’s “Women and Girls in Climate Change Science” under the Emakumeak Zientzian project.

These webinars aim to showcase the diverse array of opportunities available in STEAM careers, with a specific focus on encouraging high school students, particularly women, to explore these fields. Given the persistent gender gap in the industry, both sessions will feature BC3 women researchers sharing their personal and professional journeys, addressing the challenges they’ve encountered, and emphasizing the significance of gender mainstreaming in the realms of science and technology.

The Basque session will feature Estibaliz Baroja as key speaker and will be moderated by researcher Marta Pascual. On the other hand, the English webinar will be led by researchers Sudeshna Kumar and Carmen Köhler, with moderation by researcher Rebecca Blevins.
