`Artistic Resilience´: Transdisciplinary collaborations and Collective Care for Eco-Social Renewal

May 7, 2024 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

This talk explores the concept of “Artistic Resilience” through the lens of the speaker’s experience in diverse international collaborative projects. The presentation positions artistic practice itself as a form of resilience, offering tools and questions for rebuilding a more balanced relationship with the environment and society.  It invites participants on a journey that bridges the experiential and experimental, fostering dialogue about the power of transdisciplinary creation and collective care to tackle eco-social challenges.

About the lecturer

Seila Fernández Arconada is a multidisciplinary artist and researcher whose practice is focused on contemporary eco-social uncertainties, the product of the tensions arising from extractive relationships with Nature. Seila has exhibited internationally as well as leading numerous multidisciplinary workshops and interventions. Participatory and collaborative research methodologies with other disciplines and community members are vital in her practice, including the transdisciplinary project The Land of the Summer People, together with the Water Engineering Department of the University of Bristol (UK) among others.
