Marta Olazabal, investigadora de BC3, ha participado en la segunda edición de Fast Fast Forward LIVE, una serie de eventos globales sobre innovación y tecnología organizados por AXA XL. La segunda edición se ha centrado en la innovación de los seguros climático paramétrico. Olazabal ha sido parte del panel de expertos donde el debate se ha centrado en ejemplos prácticos de soluciones paramétricas aplicadas a varias industrias como Energía, Construcción, Alimentación y Distribución.

El investigador de BC3 Mikel González-Eguino ofreció el 5 de Septiembre de 2019 una conferencia sobre el Cambio Climático con el objetivo de concienciar sobre las acciones responsables del cambio climático y motivar en su divulgación entre los escolares y en la puesta en marcha de pequeñas alternativas en el Colegio Santa María Marianistas de Vitoria-Gasteiz, del que es antiguo alumno.

Under the title "Developing Tools for Valuing Natural Capital’s Contribution to Economic Well-Being: OPEN IEEM" Ferdinando Villa, BC3 Ikerbasque researcher, Onil Banerjee from Natural Resource Economist with the IDB, Kenneth J Bagstad from Research Economist with the U.S. Geological Survey in Denver and Martin Cicowiez from researcher at the Center for Distributive, Labor and Social Studies explains the advancements on linking the IEEM platform with Ecosystem Services Values and to the contribution to economic well-being.

BC3 – Basque Centre for Climate Change former cientific director Anil Markandya took part this week at the fourteenth meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD COP 14). This conference was scherduled to take place from 2-13 September 2019, at the India Expo Center and Mart in New Delhi, India.Part of the side event “Economics of land degradation: Development Alternatives, WOTR & the ELD Initiative” the Distinguished Ikerbasque Professor Markandya gave a presentation about “Economics of Land Degatation: Insights from an evaluation study in Bundelhand by Development Alternatives Group”.
