Roster-Expert on public policy analysis in the transition to a low-carbon society

The Basque Centre for Climate Change (BC3) is looking for candidates who can support its activities related to the assessment of policies in the transition to a low-carbon, sustainable and inclusive society. The selected candidates will contribute to the analysis of the energy transition and climate and energy policies that will carried out by the Low Carbon team and BC3 in different projects, mainly in Spain but also in the European Union.

The candidate is expected to:

  • Provide rigorous assessment of policies based on quantitative and qualitative information, including ex-ante and ex-post
  • Have an excellent knowledge of the main climate and energy policies in the agenda at different geographical scales and sectors or topics.
  • Engage with multiple stakeholders and work in collaboration with them.
  • Write reports and disseminate results in different meetings and forums.
  • Raise fundings (depending of the experience of the candidate).

Experience/skills required: We are looking for candidates with a university degree and solid knowledge on the assessment of energy and climate policies. Having experience in using and developing quantitative techniques to perform policy assessments is highly value as well as the ability to create networks with decision-makers based on cooperation and co-production of knowledge. Having a Master degree or a PhD is value, but it is not compulsory. Applicants should have excellent interpersonal as well as communication skills (both written and oral) in Spanish and English. An excellent level of Spanish is compulsory for this call.

Term of contract

The position will be for a period of at least 1 year with option to renew upon mutual satisfaction based on the performance of the work.
