Resilience is a multi-faceted concept frequently used across a wide range of disciplines, practices, and sectors. There is a growing recognition of the utility of resilience as a bridging concept that can facilitate inter-and transdisciplinary approaches to tackle complexities inherent in decision making under conditions of risk and uncertainty.

Book chapter: Delta Economics and Sustainability

Environmental change constitutes a risk to the sustainability of economic activities, within deltas and the wider regions and economies within which they sit. Slow acting environmental change and shocks from extreme events can affect economic activities. Using multiregional input-output tables, extended to include environmental dimensions and combined with Computable General Equilibrium models, flows of economic activities and ecosystem services across supply chains are assessed.

Research Assistant – MASBIO project

The Basque Centre for Climate Change (BC3) is offering a 14 months full-time research assistant position in the MASBIO project. The selected candidate will contribute to the strengthening of the water cycle in El Mijares watershed, through the modeling of environmental and socio-economic factors, and the design and organization of workshops aimed at collective decision making with stakeholders.

TRANSIT field technician – Doñana

The Basque Centre for Climate Change (BC3) is looking for a motivated field technician to work on the international project TRANSIT. The main aim is to collect data on plant-animal interactions, pollinator behavior and plant reproductive success. Start date will be March 2021 with a duration of 5 months.
