Transformative innovation policy for a social and environmental sustainability

March 19, 2024 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

This seminar will delve into the transformative innovation policy’s (TIP) main characteristics as framed by the Transformative Innovation Policy Consortium. TIP refers to a strategic and proactive approach to shaping innovation in ways that drive substantial and positive changes in society, the economy, and the environment. It goes beyond traditional innovation policies that focus solely on economic growth and technological advancements. TIP seeks to address complex societal challenges, promote sustainability, and foster inclusive development by encouraging innovation that leads to socio-technical system change. Furthermore,  a practical example of how TIP is applied in Catalonia to reframe the smart specialization strategy will be addressed (see “agendas of RIS3CAT 2030”  for more information).
