BC3 continues to sponsor the Pint of Science 2024 festival in Bilbao


BC3 will continue its sponsorship of the popular science festival Pint of Science, which this year will take place from 13 to 15 May in Bilbao. This event, which brings together leading scientists, will offer a programme of 24 talks in various bars in the city, addressing hot topics in science today.

Pint of Science is an internationally recognised science outreach event, held in around 67 cities in Spain and in 25 other countries around the world.

BC3 will be present in the programme with three of its researchers at Davinci Bilbao. Researcher Céline Moreaux will open the event with her talk “Why do you think bees will save us Myths and Dilemmas of scientific communication” on 13 May, followed by researcher Estibaliz Sanz with “Local policies of climate emergency” and Théo Rouhette with “Degrowth or green growth” on 14 May, on the last day of the festival.

This year, for the first time, BC3 with Pint of Science will also come to the Basque coast, with the participation of  Elena Galán, BC3 researcher and shepherdess, who will talk about her experience in scientific and pastoral disciplines in her talk “Ovejízate” in Ondarroa on 13 May.

In addition to BC3’s representation, the event will be attended by leading scientists from important academic centres and research institutions in the territory, such as the UPV/EHU, the University of Deusto, Biocruces, Azti, the Biofisika Institute, the Achucarro Basque Neuroscience Research Centre, BCMaterials and the Basque Centre for Applied Mathematics (BCAM).

All Pint of Science 2024 talks are free to attend, offering a unique opportunity for audiences of all ages to immerse themselves in the fascinating world of science in a relaxed environment.
