Following our “Women and girls in climate change science” initiative from last year, BC3 will organize two open webinars on February 13, 2023, one in English (10am) and one in Basque (11am), to celebrate the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, as part of the Emakumeak Zientzian initiative. Both sessions aim to show the wide range of opportunities that STEAM careers can offer to high school students, especially women, as the field still experiences a huge gender gap.
A group of BC3 women researchers will talk about their personal and professional experiences, the challenges they have faced and the importance of gender mainstreaming in science and tech. The Basque session will have researchers Marta Pascual and Jaione Ortiz de Zarate as main speakers and will be moderated by researcher Eva Alonso; while researchers Leticia Pérez and Elena Galán will lead the English webinar, which will be moderated by researcher Estibaliz Baroja.
