Predoctoral Grants- FPI 2020


BC3 – Basque Centre for Climate Change, as Maria de Maeztu Unit, offers two predoctoral grant – FPI 2020 launched by the Spanish Ministry of Science. The call offers 2 contracts to develop the PhD at BC3 with a 4 year duration to be carried out in a multidisciplinary and international research team. The doctoral programme FPI 2020 is devoted to attract talented of any nationality in order to carry out their PhD thesis in the framework of R&D projects that are being performed in Severo Ochoa/Maria de Maeztu granted organizations. BC3 offers 2 contracts to developed their PhD.

Candidate one:

The selected person will be physically located in Leioa (Bizkaia) at the UPV-EHU Science Park, at BC3 facilities. The selected person will work at the Terrestrial Ecosystems research line under the direct supervision of Dr. María José Sanz and in close collaboration with Low Carbon research line, according to the needs of the project.

Candidate two:

The selected person will be physically located in Leioa (Bizkaia) at the UPV-EHU Science Park, at BC3 facilities. The selected person will work at the Adaptation Lab research line under the direct supervision of Dr. Marc Neumann and in close collaboration with Terrestrial Ecosystems research line, according to the needs of the project.

Experience/skills required:

The applicant must hold a post-graduate in either physical or social sciences that would formally entitle him/her to register on a doctorate for the academic course 2020-2021 (Master Degree or minimum 300 ECTS) or be already registered on a doctorate. Additionally, he/she should have excellent interpersonal as well as communication skills, both written and oral, in English. The applicants should demonstrate ability to initiate and complete research characterized by originality, creativity and innovation.

Other experience/skills valued: Applicants will have a background in either physical or the social sciences but with a strong commitment to the study of climate change.
