Scientific Director of BC3 Prof. Maria José Sanz elected member of the Editorial Board of the IPCC´s Emission Factor Database (EFDB)

The Scientific Director of BC3 Prof. Maria José Sanz has been selected as a member of the Editorial Board (Land Use, Land-Use Change and Forestry Sector) of the Emission Factor Database (EFDB) for the coming 4 years (2016-2019).

In November 2015, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) invited governments and international organizations to nominate experts to serve on the Editorial Board of the EFDB and Prof. Maria José Sanz was selected.

The EFDB, Emission Factor Database was formally launched at the 8th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP8, UNFCCC) in October 2002 and its overall objective is to be an updated companion for the IPCC Guidelines for national greenhouse gas inventories that is seen as a worldwide resource for greenhouse gas inventory compilers and developers. The EFDB Editorial Board is a body responsible for evaluating proposals of emission factors and other related parameters for inclusion in the EFDB.
