IKERTALENT 2024 – Two PhD Positions


The Basque Centre for Climate Change is a host institution of the Ikertalent 2024 program – Grants for supporting research and technical staff in the scientific-technological and business fields in the agricultural, fisheries and food sectors. It offers two PhD to be carried out in a multidisciplinary and international research team. The doctoral fellowship aims to promote the training of researchers and technical staff by incorporating and participating in R+D+i projects to be carried out in scientific-technological areas, markets and business organisations in the agricultural, fishing and food of the Basque Country.

 What do we offer:

BC3 offers two pre-doctoral positions to work:

  1. “Quantification of the environmental and economic impact of “climate-smart forestry“” The main objective of the project is to assess the impacts of various climate-smart forestry practices on multiple environmental priorities. This PhD would be directed by Phil Martin and Jorge Curiel, both BC3 researchers
  2. “Agri-food transitions in the Basque Country and implications for terrestrial ecosystems” The main objective of the project is to analyse the environmental, nutritional and socio-economic impact of the different transitions in the agri-food system in the Basque Country. This PhD would be directed by Iñaki Arto and Agustin del Prado, both BC3 researchers
