The Basque Centre for Climate Change (BC3), offers a full-time Predoctoral Researcher position to support the research activities in the context of the Basque Government PIBA funded BIOSTABILITY project (PIBA_2023_1_0053), led by Dr. Ainhoa Magrach. This is a 3-year research project that will be developed at the ‘Global change impacts on ecosystem function’ lab, and within the framework of the Terrestrial Ecosystems Research Line (RL3).

New insights into glacier dynamics: Recent research published in the scientific magazine Annals of Glaciology reveals that impurities within the Monte Perdido Glacier’s ice are reshaping its microstructure, modifying its dynamics and potentially accelerating its degradation. This study is the first to comprehensively analyze the interaction of different elements within the ice of mountain glaciers, offering crucial insights into their behavior in the face of climate change.

As part of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women on November 25, BC3 hosted a participatory workshop within the centre. The two-hour session, facilitated by a professional social educator, engaged a diverse group of researchers to discuss how to raise awareness and collectively overcome violence against women.
