Research Assistant Position – Assessing Climate Change Risk in Europe (ACCREU) project

The Basque Centre for Climate Change (BC3), offers a 2-year full-time research assistant position within the Horizon research project ACCREU, Assessing Climate Change Risk in Europe. ACCREU aims to contribute to the just transition towards climate resilience in the EU, its Member States, and regions, by co-creating and co-delivering with a wide array of stakeholders, new knowledge and actionable insights that connect the challenges of adaptation and mitigation with the multiple and new challenges our society is facing.

Congratulations to new BC3 PhD graduate Xabier Díaz de Otalora

Dr. Xabier Díaz de Otalora graduated with a thesis entitled “Sustainability assessment of key European dairy cattle production systems: System identification, analysis, and greenhouse gas and nitrogen emission mitigation” today at the Universitat Politecnica de Valencia. Díaz de Otalora’s thesis has been supervised by Prof. UZ. Dr. Barbara Amon and Dr. Agustin de Prado.

Discussing soil security at GSS2023

On June 26-29, the 4th Global Soil Security Conference 2023 (GSS2023) was celebrated in Seoul, Korea, with the theme ‘Global Soil Security: Beyond the Soil (BTS)’. The event, hosted by the Korean Society of Soil Science and Fertilizer (KSSSF), reunited 192 presentations and over 260 delegates from 24 countries to discuss how sustainable soil management is needed for solving humanity and planetary existential challenges.

Dr Freddy Eliseo Michel Portugal graduated with a thesis entitled “Climate Change and Traditional/Ancestral Resilience of Indigenous Peoples and Nationalities of the Ecuadorian Amazon ” today at the Faculty of Science and Technology (UPV/EHU). Michel’s thesis has been supervised by Professor Sérgio H. Faria Ikerbasque researcher at BC3).
