Job position: Research Assistant

The Basque Centre for Climate Change (BC3) invites applications for a research assistant (RA) to work on the project “CAN WE MEASURE THE EFFECTIVENESS OF PUBLIC INVESTMENTS IN URBAN CLIMATE RESILIENCE?” funded by the AXA Research Fund. The RA will be working under the supervision of Dr. Marta Olazabal and will be part of the Adaptation Lab at BC3.

BC3 – Basque Centre for Climate Change busca a una persona para un puesto de Research Assistant en el marco del proyecto PROCESA - Evaluación del PROgreso de las Ciudades ESpañolas hacia la Adaptación, financiado por la Fundación Biodiversidad. La persona seleccionada se unirá al Adaptation Lab, una de las cinco líneas de investigación existentes en BC3 que aborda los retos de la adaptación al cambio climático con un enfoque transversal que gira en torno a la economía la adaptación, el análisis de políticas de adaptación, la evaluación de riesgos, el progreso en materia de adaptación y la resiliencia.

The Basque Centre for Climate Change (BC3) is looking for candidates who can support its strategic activities related to integrated data science and collaborative, integrated modeling on the semantic web. The selected candidates will contribute to the ARIES (ARtificial Intelligence for Ecosystem Services) project powered by the k.LAB software stack, a semantic web infrastructure that uses artificial intelligence to build computational solutions to environment, policy and sustainability problems.

Post-Doctoral position: Development of economic models to support low carbon transitions

The Basque Centre for Climate Change (BC3) opens a competitive call for applications to one Post-Doctoral contract to contribute to the development of dynamic-econometric input-output models to support low carbon transitions in the context of the LOCOMOTION project, funded by the H2020 program. The overall objective of LOCOMOTION is to enhance existing Integrated Assessment Models in order to provide policy makers and relevant stakeholders with a reliable and practical model system to assess the feasibility, effectiveness, costs and impacts of different transition pathways towards a low-carbon society. BC3·leads a work package focused on Economic & financial system modelling. The research will be conducted at BC3 but also in collaboration with other international research institutions.
