BC3 supports the UNITE campaign to end violence against women

Launched in 2008, the UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon's campaign UNITE to End Violence against Women is a multi-year initiative that seeks to prevent and eliminate violence against women and girls around the world.The 2020 campaign, "16 days of activism against gender violence" of the United Nations System, is celebrated from today, November 25 - International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, until December 10, Human Rights Day.

New edition of Euskaraldia

Between November 20 and December 4, BC3 – Basque Centre for Climate Change will participate in Euskaraldia 2020. The main purpose of Euskaraldia is to increase the use of the Basque language during this period.

Unai Pascual named to 2020 ‘highly cited researchers’ list

Unai Pascual, Ikerbasque Research Professor at BC3 (Basque Centre for Climate Change), has been named to the prestigious Clarivate Analytics list of “Highly Cited Researchers” for 2020. The 2020 list of Highly Cited Researchers, in a new Cross-Field category to identify researchers with substantial influence across several fields during 2009-2019 with production of multiple highly cited papers that rank in the top 1% in Web of Science, includes researchers ranking in the top 1 percent by citations for field and publication year.

INPhINIT. “La Caixa” Doctoral Fellowship Programme

BC3, the Basque Centre for Climate Change, as Maria de Maeztu Unit, is a host organization of INPhINIT and offers up to 10 research projects to be carried out in a multidisciplinary and international research team. The doctoral fellowship programme INPhINIT ”la Caixa” is devoted to attracting talented Early-Stage Researchers—of any nationality—who wish to pursue doctoral studies in Spanish or Portuguese territory. Sponsored by ”la Caixa” Foundation, it is aimed at supporting the best scientific talent and fostering innovative and high-quality research in Spain and Portugal by recruiting outstanding international students and offering them an attractive and competitive environment for conducting research of excellence.

Los planes de adaptación al cambio climático de las ciudades más grandes a nivel mundial no van a conseguir resultados efectivos a medio y largo plazo, tal y como están planteados ahora. Es una de las conclusiones principales del estudio publicado por Marta Olazabal y María Ruiz de Gopegui, investigadoras del Basque Center for Climate Change (BC3).
