Unai Pascual named to 2018 ‘highly cited researchers’ list

Unai Pascual, Ikerbasque Research Professor at BC3 (Basque Centre for Climate Change), has been named to the prestigious Clarivate Analytics list of "Highly Cited Researchers" for 2018 . The 2018 list of Highly Cited Researchers, in a new Cross-Field category to identify researchers with substantial influence across several fields during 2006-2016 with production of multiple highly cited papers that rank in the top 1% in Web of Science, includes researchers ranking in the top 1 percent by citations for field and publication year.

BC3´s Official Side Event at COP24

BC3 is an admitted observer organization that organizes Side Events at COP. This year, 2018 BC3 will be contributing by organizing its own Side Eventin collaboration with the Centre For Research on Energy and Environmental Economics and Policy (IEFE) of Bocconi University Milan and the Foundation for Gaia. Since 2010 BC3 has been playing an active role at COPs with a variety of contributions.

Last 2nd of February, BC3 hosted 15/16 years old 6 students under the framework of Novia Salcedo’s LANALDI program sharing a working day with them. The goal of this program is to assess in an innovative way young students before choosing their high level education program. Novia Salcedo helps them providing online tools to develop professional skills and also giving them the opportunity to share a full working day with an active professional.

Prof. Markandya one of International Adaptation experts authoring the UNEP Adaptation Gap Report 2017

UNEP’s Adaptation Gap Report series focuses on Finance, Technology and Knowledge gaps in climate change adaptation. It compliments the Emissions Gap Report series, and explores the implications of failing to close the emissions gap.The report builds on a 2014 assessment by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), which laid out the concept of ‘adaptation gaps’ and outlined three such gaps: technology, finance and knowledge.

Research by BC3 researchers, Iñaki Arto and Anil Markandya, mentioned in Juncker’s State of the Union address of 13 Sep 2017 “Every additional €1 billion in exports supports 14,000 extra jobs in Europe”

Jean-Claude Juncker, President of the European Commission, in his State of the Union of 13 September 2017, has referred for the second consecutive year to the report “EU Exports to the World: Effects on Employment and Income” authored by BC3 researchers, Dr. Iñaki Arto and Prof. Anil Markandya.
