Datorren azaroaren 28an Getxon egingo da “Gobernu lokalak, itsasaldeak, itsasoak eta klima-aldaketa” jardunaldia, Getxoko Udala eta Basque Centre for Climate Change, BC3 erakundearen batera antolatzen duguna. Bere helburua da ezagutzea eta ezagutzera ematea zer egiten ari garen Euskadin, Zientziatik, bertako Erakunde Publikoetatik edo Garapenetik, itsas eta itsasaldetako ekosistemak babesteko. Horretarako, ahots adituak elkartuko zaizkigu, BC3, AZTI ikerketa-zentroa, Medicus Mundi GKE edo Getxoko udaletik bertatik.

The Basque Centre for Climate Change will present the ARIES (Artificial Intelligence for Ecosystem Services) modelling framework at the 10th World Conference of the Ecosystem Services Partnership (ESP) in a pre-conference training. The participants to the training will have the chance to try a preview release of k.Explorer, an internet browser-based user interface, which provides an easy way to access the ARIES network of models and data.

New Yorken mundu osoko buruzagiak Klima Ekintzarako Goi Bileran elkartu diren honetan, eta gizartearen eta gazteen eskaerak— irailaren 27ko mundu mailako grebaren aurreko giroan— gero eta indar handiagoa hartzen ari diren honetan, Basque Centre for Climate Change (BC3) zentroak bat egin du erakunde akademiko, sozial eta politikoek onartutako klima-larrialdiaren adierazpenarekin.

BC3 - Basque Centre for Climate Change: Klima Aldaketa Ikergai UPV/EHUko Unibertsitateko Bibliotekarekin elkarlanean Larrialdi Klimatikoaren inguruko erakusketa antolatu du. Gaur egungo gizartearen erronkei aurre egiteko behar den ezagutza sortzeko eta zabaltzeko beharrezkoak diren informazio baliabideak unibertsitarien eta gizartearen esku jartzea du helburu erakusketak."Larrialdi Klimatikoa - Emergencia Climática" erakusketa 2019ko irailetik 2020ko irailera egongo da eskuragai Bizkaiko Campuseko Bibliotekan (Leioa)La exposición "Larrialdi Klimatikoa - Emergencia Climática" estará disponible en la Biblioteca del Campus de Bizkaia (Leioa) desde septiembre 2019 a enero 2020.

Zentroko zuzendari zientifikoa den María José Sanz bereizgarriaren bila joan denean "ikerketa transdiziplinar batetik egindako klima aldaketaren zientziak duen garrantzia azpimarratu du.

BC3- Basque Centre for Climate Change former director and Distinguished Ikerbasque Professor Anil Markandya has been appointed as EAERE Fellow. The EAERE Fellows program was instituted in 2019 to recognize outstanding contributions in the field of environmental and resource economics for their contributions to the advancement of the profession of environmental and resource economists through outstanding publications, and/or important roles in the policy word, and/or important roles in the Association’s governance and/or activities.

The new EU H2020 project Paris Reinforce (Delivering On the Paris Agreement: A Demand-Driven, Integrated Assessment Modelling Approach) has kicked off with its first meeting held in Athens in the beginning of June, 2019. The project has been granted over 6.5 million € funding from the European Commission under the call for supporting the design and assessment of climate policies call of the Horizon 2020 program, with the Basque Centre for Climate Change (BC3) as one of the main partners of this consortium.

BC3k Klimagune Workshoparen zortzigarren edizioa ospatzen du. Klima aldaketak hiri egokitzen plangintzetan ekarriko dituen erronkei helduko dio aurtengo edizioak, ekainaren 7an Biakaia Aretoan, Bilbo. PROCESA proiektuaren baitan antolatutako jardunaldia Trantsizio ekologikorako Ministerioko Biodibertsitate Fundazioaren babesa du.

The Scientific Director of BC3, Prof. María José Sanz, is currently in Kyoto, Japan, in the IPCC discussion on the last new Methodology Report titled "Refinement of 2019 of the 2006 IPCC Guidelines for National Greenhouse Gas Inventories", within which she participates as the coordinator of leading author Agustin Prado, BC3 researcher.
