Ibon Galarraga, senior researcher at Basque Centre for Climate Change, has been interviewed at Horizon 2020 Magazine about the results of CONSEED projects

The HORIZON Magazine interviewed researchers Ibon Galarraga and Eleanor Denny about the results of the CONSEED project and what they learned from consumers about their engagement with the range of energy efficient cars, property and appliances on the European market. Galarraga stressed “how is critical that Europe supports individuals to buy correctly, because energy eficiency is one of the easiest ways to save energy”.

“An important step to changing people’s habits is to help them take control of their energy use by producing understandable fuel bills and putting meters in homes that help people better monitor their energy usage” Ibon Galarraga, BC3, at HORIZONE Magazine

The objective CONSEED (CONsumer Energy Efficiency Decision Making) research project aims to find out through surveys and field trials among households and various economic sectors across Europe. CONSEED will run surveys, field experiments and discrete choice experiments to understand the wide range of factors that influence consumers when they buy electric appliances, cars or buildings. The project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 Programme for Research, Technological Development and Demonstration.
