El ACP es utilizado en una amplia gama de aplicaciones en el estudio de fenomenos ambientales, desde el analisis de campos meteorol ́ogicos hasta en la evaluacion de redes de control y vigilancia de la calidad del aire (RCVCA). Hoy por hoy, es posible encontrar una buena cantidad de publicaciones en ingles sobre este último tipo de aplicaciones, pero hay una carencia de informacion en castellano.

Agent-based models (ABMs) are increasingly recognized as valuable tools in modelling human-environmental systems, but challenges and critics remain. One pressing challenge in the era of “Big Data” and given the flexibility of representation afforded by ABMs, is identifying the appropriate level of complicatedness in model structure for representing and investigating complex real-world systems.

American crude oil prices have dropped significantly of late up to a low of less than $30 a barrel in early 2016. At the same time price volatility has increased and crude in storage has reached record amounts in America. Low oil prices in particular pose quite a challenge for the survival of America’s tight-oil industry.
