The Basque Centre for Climate Change (BC3) offers a full-time one-year position as research assistant in the project MENDindi: Understanding uncertainties and their role in the coproduction of indigenous knowledge about the “grafting of glaciers” for water security: the case of High-Mountain Asia. This is a joint project of the BC3 Research Lines 1 (Climate Basis) and 4 (Adaptation) involving BC3´s Collaboration Laboratory ColLab and the low-temperature laboratory IzotzaLab.
About the project:
MENDindi is a research project funded by the Education Department of the Basque Government, PIBA_2022_1_0043 and supported by ref. CEX2021-001201-M funded by MCIN/AEI/10.13039/501100011033; and by the Basque Government through the BERC 2022-2025 program. It aims at identifying the most important sources of uncertainty associated with the local practice of “glacier grafting” as an integral part of water management in the Karakoram and Western Himalayan ranges, considering that there are knowledge deficits and also many different and valid ways of knowing.
