Six BC3 researchers rank among the World’s Top 2% Scientists 2023

Stanford University recently published the list of the top 2% of the world’s most influential scientists in the updated author databases of standardised citation indicators for all of science and once again BC3 researchers were ranked as the most influential researchers: Unai Pascual, Anil Markandya, Mikel González-Eguino, Ibon Galarraga and Luis Maria Abadie. Also in this ranking update, BC3 Professor Iñaki Arto has been also ranked as one of the most influential researchers in the world.

The ranking includes the 2% of researchers with the highest number of citations in scientific publications based on the information collected in the Scopus database and without considering their own citations. This list is based on the citations received in the year 2022 and is formulated by applying different parameters related to the impact of scientific publications: number of publications, number of times these have been cited and other indicators of the impact of their work.

The ranking has been published by Elsevier BV, in the article entitled “October 2023 data-update for “Updated science-wide author databases of standardized citation indicators (DOI:10.17632/btchxktzyw.6) which has been prepared by John P. A. Ioannidis (Stanford University). The ranking lists around 200,000 people at the cutting edge of science, out of nearly 10 million working in academic and research institutions around the world.
