Researchers Marta Olazabal and Elisa Sainz de Murieta contribute to the new IPCC report on impacts, adaptation and vulnerability to climate change

The latest report of Working Group II of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) has analyzed the impacts, adaptation and vulnerability of the climate crisis to ecosystems, infrastructure and human populations, where they have concluded that “Climate change is a threat to the human well-being and health of the planet. Any further delay in global action will lose a window of opportunity to ensure a liveable and sustainable future for all”.

The report entitled Climate Change 2022: Impacts, Adaptation and Vulnerability, has the participation of Marta Olazabal, BC3 researcher, in Chapter 6 (Urban Areas) and Elisa Sainz de Murieta, professor of the UPV/EHU and researcher associated with the BC3, in Chapter 9 (Africa) as part of the 675 authors who have contributed and accompanied the 270 lead authors from 67 countries who have reviewed more than 64,000 scientific studies published in recent years. This report is part of the IPCC Sixth Assessment Report, which will be completed in 2022 with the Climate Change Mitigation Report.
