 The Basque Centre for Climate Change (BC3) is looking for candidates who can support its activities related to the development and use of Environmental-Extended Input Output (EEIO) databases and Dynamic Econometric Input-Output (DEIO) models. The selected candidate will contribute to different research projects carried out by the Low Carbon team and BC3, including the development of an Energy-Environment-Economy (3E) Input-Output model for the Basque Country, the construction of global Environmental-Extended Input Output tables, and modelling circular economy.

 

The candidate is expected to:

  • Contribute to the development of EEIO databases and DEIO models.
  • Have an excellent knowledge of the System of National Accounts, System of Environmental-Economic Accounting, and Input-Output techniques.
  • Provide rigorous assessment of policies and scenarios based on quantitative and qualitative information at different scales (Basque, Spanish, international).
  • Contribute to national (Basque, Spanish) and international research projects.
  • Write reports and scientific publications and disseminate results in different meetings and forums.
  • Raise funds.

Experience/skills required: We are looking for candidates with a Master degree or a PhD and more than 8 years of professional/academic experience after the completion the University degree. The candidate should have a clear multidisciplinary background (with solid knowledge in the fields of environment, energy and economics), skills in quantitative methods and programming, experience in Energy-Environment-Economy analysis (in particular in EEIO and/or DEIO), and experience working in national/international research projects. Applicants should have excellent interpersonal as well as communication skills (both written and oral) in Spanish and English. An excellent level of Spanish is compulsory for this call. Knowledge of Basque language (Euskara) is valued, but it is not compulsory.

Term of contract
