BC3 becomes member of Think Sustainable Europe

BC3 – Basque Centre for Climate Change interdisciplinary research centre becomes new member of Think Sustainable Europe, the network of European sustainability think tanks. For the  BC3 Scientific Director María José Sanz been part of  “Think Sustainable Europe represents a coalition of leading institutes across Europe that can collectively offer a space for discovering transdisciplinary and more coherent solutions for the environmental and socio-economic challenges and for the promotion of transformative changes that the EU and its Member States are facing,”.

Think Sustainable Europe was created to provide policymakers across the continent with sound, science-based analysis and recommendations, by combining insights and experiences from various countries and areas of expertise.

Launched in 2019, the network also serves as the idea generator behind Think2030, a nonpartisan, multi-stakeholder platform of policy experts from civil society, international NGOs, and the private sector.

BC3 join the founding members: the Institute for European Environmental Policy (IEEP), the Ecologic Institute, the Institute for Sustainable Development and International Relations (IDDRI), the Stockholm Environment Institute (SEI), and TMG – Think Tank for Sustainability. The Green Tank and The European office of the International Institute for Sustainable Development (IISD) also join the network.

In the year since it’s been active, the network has already held several high-level meetings at EU institutions, provided recommendations and analysis of major policy files and proposed the creation of an independent, green recovery scrutiny board to ensure a sustainable transition from the COVID-19 pandemic. In November, the network organised the second Think2030 conference, hosted by the Ecologic Institute online.
