Research Assistant – Climaecon2

The Basque Centre for Climate Change (BC3), offers a one-year full-time assistant position. The selected person will contribute to activities related to climate change mitigation and adaptation within the context of the transition to a low-carbon, resilient and inclusive society. The work will be carried out within the CLIMAECON2 project.

The research assistant is expected to:

  • Monitor and collect data of climate-change related recovery measures approved by different institutions at the national and regional level.
  • Review the literature in relation to different aspects of mitigation and adaptation to climate change.
  • Prepare project reports and contribute to the organization of project dissemination materials and events.
  • Engage with multiple stakeholders and work in collaboration with them.

Required skills and experience:

We are looking for a person with master’s level training in instruments of economic analysis and evaluation of public policies. Likewise, they must have the capacity to develop technical documentation and for public relations in the professional field and in dealing with public agents. Command of spoken and written Spanish, as well as English (C1).

 

Term of contract

The position will be for a period of 1 year starting in October 2020, with a probation period of 2 months based on the performance of the work. We offer a competitive salary, matching the academic and professional profile of the applicant, and excellent working conditions.

The selected candidate will work within the research project “Strengthening low-carbon transition policies” (CLIMAECON2). Call 2018 I+D+i «RETOS INVESTIGACIÓN» (CLIMAECON2, Ref. RTI2018-093352-B-I00), led by Dr. Mikel Gonzalez-Eguino funded by the Spanish Research Agency/ Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities.
