The Basque Government and BC3 sign an agreement to promote research, divulgation and training on climate change


The Department of Environment, Territorial Planning and Housing of the Basque Government and the BC3 Basque Centre for Climate Change have signed an agreement to carry out actions in the area of ​​mitigation and adaptation of the territory to face climate change.

The agreement, which will involve a contribution to BC3 of 430,000 euros per year for the next four years (a total of 1.7 million euros), includes six specific areas of action:

1) Climate basis

2) Transition to a low carbon society

3) Terrestrial ecosystems

4) Measures of adaptation to climate change

5) Integrated models of human-natural systems

6) Divulgation and training

According to the Basque Government’s minister for the Environment, Territorial Planning and Housing, Iñaki Arriola, “BC3 will provide us its knowledge on the consequences of global warming in the Basque Country and will offer us advice on our policies for an ecological transition in the different sectors of our economy”.
