Open positions for María de Maeztu predoctoral fellowships

The BC3 Basque Centre for Climate Change opens a competitive call for applications for predoctoral fellows in the context of the María de Maeztu award. The fellows will contribute to the BC3 Strategic Plan (2018-2021). This Strategic Plan is aligned with six objectives and two cross cutting themes, which include a further step moving towards solutions co-designed with decision makers in the post-COP21 and Sustainable Development Goals world (transdisciplinary science).
The six objectives that articulate the Strategic Planning are the following
Experience/skills required:
The applicant must hold a post-graduate in either physical or social sciences that would formally entitle him/her to register on a doctorate for the academic course 2018-2019 (Master Degree or minimum 300 ECTS) or be already registered on a doctorate. Additionally, he/she should have excellent interpersonal as well as communication skills, both written and oral, in English. The applicants should demonstrate ability to initiate and complete research characterized by originality, creativity and innovation.
Other experience/skills valued: Applicants will have a background in either physical or the social sciences but with a strong commitment to the study of climate change.
Tenure
The position will initially be for one year, with the possibility for extending it further upon a positive assessment of the performance of the work carried out by the candidate during the fellowship.
Salary
The position will carry competitive salary, matching the academic and professional profile of the applicant, and excellent conditions of work with full social security coverage following the Spanish legislation.
