Un nuevo estudio internacional publicado en la prestigiosa revista Nature Communications y en el que participa BC3 identifica un periodo glaciar “cálido” que habría permitido la acumulación de hielo necesaria para esta importante transición.

Most local authorities are not considering the needs of vulnerable people sufficiently when planning for climate change, according to a study of more than 300 European cities.

Con motivo de la semana de la pobreza energética, un equipo investigador del Observatorio de la Transición Energética y la Acción Climática (OTEA) de BC3 ha publicado un estudio pionero que formula una serie de indicadores para cuantificar la pobreza relacionada con el transporte en España.

Research conducted by a group of researchers at the Basque Centre for Climate Change (BC3) and the University of Almería, Sean Goodwin (BC3 and the University of Almería), Marta Olazabal (BC3 and Ikerbasque), Antonio J. Castro (University of Almería), and Unai Pascual (BC3 and Ikerbasque), published in Nature Sustainability, identifies critical pathways for making progress on the application of nature-based solutions to climate change adaptation in cities. The study uses data from 216 projects implemented in 130 cities worldwide.

BC3 researcher Ainhoa Magrach has been granted a prestigious European Research Council (ERC) Consolidator Grant to implement her project, “GorBEEa, Understanding biodiversity-ecosystem function and biodiversity-stability relationships across spatial and organizational scales”.

The impact of climate change on health risks associated with pathogens in our coastal waters is the topic of BlueAdapt, a new €10 million Horizon Europe project. BlueAdapt, with full name “Reducing Climate Based Risks in Blue Environments: Adapting to the climate change impacts on coastal pathogens”, involves 12 institutes from across 10 countries in Europe.
