BC3 – Basque Centre for Climate Change, junto a la reserva de la biosfera de Urdaibai, UPV/EHU, Consorcio de Aguas de Busturialdea y Agencia EFE particpa en el proyecto Life Urbaso que persigue demostrar que una planificación cuidadosa y adecuada de la gestión forestal en las cuencas vertientes a las captaciones de agua potable mejoran la calidad y aumentan la cantidad del agua captada, ambas imprescindibles para mejorar la salud humana y adaptarnos a las incertidumbres del cambio climático.

Unai Pascual named to 2021 ‘highly cited researchers’ list

Unai Pascual, Ikerbasque Research Professor at BC3 (Basque Centre for Climate Change), has been named to the prestigious Clarivate Analytics list of “Highly Cited Researchers” for 2021. The 2021 list of Highly Cited Researchers, in a new Cross-Field category to identify researchers with substantial influence across several fields during 2010-2020 with production of multiple highly cited papers that rank in the top 1% in Web of Science, includes researchers ranking in the top 1 percent by citations for field and publication year.

BC3 participate in COP26 to different events and platform as admitted observer organization

The United Nations Climate Change Conference COP26, organised by the United Kingdom in collaboration with Italy from 31 October to 12 November 2021 at the Scottish Event Campus (SEC) in Glasgow (United Kingdom) has as one of the key objectives to review the progress and current state of the Paris Agreement. In addition, as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, COP26 offers the opportunity to be the platform for rebuilding local and global economies and establishing a sustainable path to recovery.

Women and girls in Climate Change Science

BC3 organize a special event on 11 February to celebrate the International Day of Women and Girls in Science.BC3 researchers will present, at this special event, that a career in climate change research is a professional option in the Basque Country and a reality for women. They will talk about their personal and professional experiences, the challenges they are facing and will show us the importance of gender mainstreaming in climate change research.

2020 European Mobility Week

BC3 - Basque Centre for Climate Change participates at the 2020 European Mobility Week. Since 2002, EUROPEANMOBILITYWEEK has sought to improve public health and quality of life through promoting clean mobility and sustainable urban transport. The campaign gives people the chance to explore the role of city streets and to experiment with practical solutions to tackle urban challenges, such as air pollution. BC3 as an interdisciplinary research centre on the causes and consequences of climate change takes the opportunity to show the research that we are doing to understand the impact of mobility in the climate emergency.
