Jornada de presentación online del Informe OTEA 2021 y debate sobre Fiscalidad Verde

El 4 de marzo a las 10.00am (CET) se presentarán los hitos principales recogidos en el Informe OTEA 2021 y se darán a conocer varios estudios realizados por el observatorio durante este año, entre ellos un estudio reciente sobre fiscalidad verde y transición justa. El evento contará con un debate posterior dónde se analizarán las claves para que la fiscalidad verde sea viable política y socialmente. Este debate se integra dentro del ciclo sobre fiscalidad verde impulsado por grupo del Manifiesto para una Recuperación Sostenible.

A new article published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States of America (PNAS) is a call to action for policymakers worldwide seeking to develop sustainable and equitable solutions to humanity’s most urgent global challenges. “Ten Facts about Land Systems for Sustainability” is co-authored by 50 leading land system scientists, including Unai Pascual (Ikerbasque Professor at the Basque Centre for Climate Change) from 20 countries.

Open call for contributions to the International Symposium on ICE IN A SUSTAINABLE SOCIETY (ISS)

The abstract submission period is open for the International Symposium on ICE IN A SUSTAINABLE SOCIETY (ISS). Participants wishing to present their works at the symposium organized by The International Glaciological Society (IGS) and the Basque Centre for Climate Change (BC3) together with UPV/EHU may submit an abstract by 4 March 2022.

Postdoctoral position to study the effects on GHG emissions of circular practices within and between farming systems

The Basque Centre for Climate Change (BC3), is looking for a post-doctoral researcher interested in (1) identifying on-farm and between-farm practices that increase circularity across different crop and livestock systems, (2) assessing the effects of circular practices on GHG emissions and other sustainability aspects, and (3) identifying barriers and opportunities for adopting promising circular practices, including leverage points for out-scaling.

Marta Olazabal granted with a European Research Council (ERC) Starting Grant

BC3 researcher Marta Olazabal has been granted with a European Research Council (ERC) Starting Grant to implement her project IMAGINE Climate Change Adaptation in Urban Areas. The main goal of ‘IMAGINE adaptation’ is to advance pioneering science for the evaluation of urban adaptation and its governance across scales.

Pablo Manzano entrevistado en la Mecánica de Caracol sobre la ganadería sostenible

l investigador Ikerbasque en BC3 (Basque Centre for Climate Change) Pablo Manzanos participa en el programa La Mecánica de Caracol junto a Eva Caballero de Radio Euskadi (EiTB). Manzano, experto en el análisis del impacto de la ganadería en los ecosistemas y su mitigación, analiza los impactos ambientales de la ganadería en general y del pastoreo en particular.
