BC3 restarts its ecomeetings, an initiative that was paused during the pandemic and that will be coordinated by Ikerbasque researchers at BC3 Ainhoa Magrach and Daniel Montoya. Ecomeetings are monthly meetings where ecologists and other researchers related to the subject can meet to talk about the latest advances in the discipline.

The Basque Centre for Climate Change (BC3), offers a 6-month full-time research assistant position.Plant water-use efficiency (WUE) is the ratio of biomass gained, per unit of water lost. This parameter intimately describes the link between the carbon and the water cycles at the global scales. Thus, precise estimates of WUE are crucial to predict vegetation-climatic feedbacks in a global change scenario.

The Basque Centre for Climate Change (BC3) offers a full-time postdoctoral scientist position in order to support the research activities of Research Line (RL) 5 on Integrated Modelling of Coupled Human-Natural Systems, supported by the IKUR programme of the Basque Government on Supercomputing and Artificial Intelligence (HPC/AI).

BC3 has recently joined the four-year project NBSOIL, which stands for Nature-Based Solutions for Soil Management. NBSOIL, which officially kicked off last December 12, is coordinated by the Institute of Soil Science and Plant Cultivation (IUNG-PIB), along AgriSat Iberia, Instituto Técnico Agronómico Provincial de Albacete (ITAP) and REVOLVE.

The Basque Centre for Climate Change (BC3) offers a full-time one-year position as research assistant in the project MENDindi: Understanding uncertainties and their role in the coproduction of indigenous knowledge about the “grafting of glaciers” for water security: the case of High-Mountain Asia. This is a joint project of the BC3 Research Lines 1 (Climate Basis) and 4 (Adaptation) involving BC3´s Collaboration Laboratory ColLab and the low-temperature laboratory IzotzaLab.

The Basque Centre for Climate Change (BC3) offers a full-time Postdoctoral Researcher Position within the project BridgingVALUES, project reference 2021-674 approved by BiodivERsa (the European Biodiversity Partnership) and funded by MINECO (Proyectos de Colaboración internacional 2022-2 (PCI2022-134982-2)), a 3 year research project co-coordinated by BC3 with consortium partners in Germany, Switzerland, Sweden, Brazil and South Africa. The position will be associated with BC3’s research Terrestrial Ecosystems research line, under the supervision of Prof Unai Pascual.

Las investigadoras de BC3 han participado en diversas jornadas con motivo del Día internacional de la ujer y la niña en la ciencia promovida por Emakumeak Zientzian con el objetivo de de visibilizar el trabajo de las mujeres investigadoras en las carreras STEAM y fomentar las vocación científica en los estudiantes de secundaria, especialmente entre las alumnas
