BC3 participates in the 4th Plenary of IPBES

The Science-Policy Intergovernmental Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES) is holding its 4th session of the plenary in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. 124 countries are being represented from the five United Nations regions. Ikerbasque Professor Unai Pascual is one of the 25 elected members of the multidisciplinary expert panel (MEP) of IPBES which oversees the scientific work of the Platform. During the IPBES4 various important decisions will be taken by the 124 country Plenary by consensus, including for instance the approval of the first thematic assessment of IPBES. This is about the role, status, trends and drivers behind the situation of pollinators for food production around the world. Among other decisions the Plenary will consider the approval of a future global assessment of biodiversity and ecosystem services.
