In a context of global climate change, economic valuation emerges as a bag of tools for preserving and developing environmental goods and services as well as for supporting health and energy adaptation. Understanding the social preferences for potential changes to environmental management, risk of illness or energy-efficient use can support debates on how to allocate the scarce resources available to achieve specific goals for climate change adaptation. Having an insight into the welfare benefits associated with these changes could not only guide policy and investment decisions, but it might also serve for awareness-raising and advocacy.
