Official Side Events at COP22

Official side events at the Marrakech Conference aim at showcasing the theme “Accelerating implementation of the Paris Agreement”. These events come under the following categories: Enhancing ambition, Promoting implementation, Providing support.

BC3 organizes a Side Event at UN Climate Change Conference November 2016 (COP 22/CMP 12/CMA 1) under the category of Promoting implementation: Sustainable development priorities of highly sensitive regions to Climate Change in Latin America: Appropriate orchestration of Adaptation and Mitigation actions (November 17th, 13:15-14:45, Bering Room)

Side events include a series of UNFCCC events. Detailed descriptions for each of these are included in the complete schedule of side events.

In addition, a large number of side events and exhibits will be hosted by observer organizations as a platform to engage with Parties and other participants for knowledge-sharing, capacity-building, networking and exploring actionable options for meeting the climate challenge. UN agencies, admitted observer organizations and those Parties that partner with observers will present their work or foster discussions on key issues.

A number of side events are clustered around thematic days, including Africa Day, BINGO Day, Climate Justice Day, Education Day, Gender Day, Farmers’ Day, Young and Future Generations Day, and EarthInfo Day.

The application period for official side events and exhibits was open through the Side Events and Exhibits Online Registration System (SEORS) from 19 to 22 July 2016 and is now closed. Observer organizations and Parties that missed the deadline can apply to be on the waiting list in case of cancellations. The application form for the waiting list can be found here.
